A large, attractive evergreen tree with a wide, roundish crown. Shiny, glossy dark green sickle-shaped leaves will turn red before they fall. Due to its size it is generally unsuitable for small spaces.
The tree bears whitish green flowers and the female tree bears tasty plum-like fruit that can be eaten by people, animals and birds. The fruit can be used to make wine or jelly.
