Hypoestes is used as an effortless perennial indoor plant or a fabulous outdoor shade plant. Outdoors it is most often planted as a colourful annual to brighten shaded spots or to add a special element to planter pots. Regular pinching back will keep plants compact. Better colour is produced in partial shade rather than sun.
