Indigenous Plants

This aloe has lovely grey-green, strap-shaped leaves and red to orange flowers. Drought resistant and ideal for water wise gardens and pots.

This versatile tree also makes an excellent container plant which can add impact to patios and paved areas. It is well known for its valuable pale yellow wood which is used in the manufacture of fine furniture.

String of arrows is almost similar to string of hearts, except for the narrower, arrow- shaped leaves. This succulent, evergreen trailing vine bears small mauve coloured flowers.  The leaves are plump when well watered.

Showers of beautiful, bell-shaped pink flowers cover this Erica in spring. Thrives with minimal water, ideal for water-wise gardening. Flourishes in Western Cape conditions with well-drained soil and sunlight. Provides year-round charm with its evergreen foliage. 

The decorative and handsome leaves of this medium to large tree turn bright red to purple in winter, dropping just before flowering, which starts around August and continues to November. Quick growing and reasonably cold resistant, this tree should be planted at least 5m from buildings and pools.

These popular garden and container plants resemble miniature aloes. Their charm is in their small size, ease of growth, and the almost infinite variation of their delightful leaves.

Hydra Noir is an attractive succulent with, fleshy finger-shaped leaves.  This indigenous beauty has a distinct dark colouring of deep green to black foliage.

A free flowering perennial, which is more floriferous and fast growing. Bears masses of large white flowers. Ideal to plant in mass, borders or containers. Semi-hardy, protect from severe frost. Prefers moist, but well-drained soil

The "Fly Bush' is an indigenous, aromatic succulent herb. Strawbery & Cream has variegated leaves, fairly hairy and sticky. Blooms with blue and purple flowerheads from Spring to Autumn. A hardy and versatile groundcover that spreads quickly, also very effective on steep slopes to prevent corrosion. Extremely suitable for coastal gardens. Very easy to grow and thrives in hot, sunny conditions/water-wise. Believed to be a snake, mosquito and fly-repellent, because of its strong, aromatic smell.

Midnight Sky is a long flowering and fast growing African Lilly with intense purple-blue flowers.  They are perfect for perennial borders, pots and mixed containers.  Heat and drought tolerant.  Place in full sun and well-drained soil.

This long-blooming agapanthus is medium sized, with two-toned flowers.  The flowers are light blue, with a darker blue stripe running down each petal. It's not only a beautiful compact indigenous filler for garden beds but also remarkably low-maintenance. Ideal for mass planting.

This woody, rambling evergreen climber with glossy leaves and striking pink trumpet flowers are a favourite in South African gardens. Ideal for elegantly covering fences or training over trellises, it's easily pruned to your desired height.

The Lipstick vine is a medium sized plant with dark green cascading leaves with cream-coloured blotches and purple undersides.  Bears bright orange, lipstick-shaped flowers, hence the common name.  Ideal for hanging baskets.  Medium to low water needs.  Only water once completed dry.
