A vigorous, fast-growing and deciduous climber. Bronze-purple leaves in spring will turn to a dull green in summer and a brilliant burgundy red in autumn. Used to cover walls or used as a ground-cover. Insignificant greenish-white flowers in summer followed by purple berries. Drought tolerant once established. Only then water deeply, occasionally. Can tolerate shade but best foliage colours require sun.
